Am I able to make a introductory dive ?
Scuba diving is accessible from the age of 8. No need to be an excellent swimmer, only pregnant women and people who have recently undergone major surgery cannot dive. Where do the introductory dives take place?
We carry out introductory diving lessons in a protected natural environment. All conditions must be met for you to be able to YOU marvel in complete safety. Polynesia is the ideal place for this, the lagoons offer calm and protected areas with little depth but lots of fish and corals to observe.
How does a scuba initiation unfold?
- The meeting point is set at the diving center. We will provide you with all the necessary equipment.
- A briefing will be given to you so that you can carry out your baptism in the best conditions, know the essential signs of diving and the safety rules to respect.
- We will reach the dive site by boat, allow about 10 minutes of navigation.
- You will dive supervised by an experienced instructor.
What depth can we go down during a first dive?
Introductory dives cannot go deeper than 6 meters—it's the law. Of course, we can stay at a shallower depth if needed (young children, anxious individuals, etc.)
I have already done several intro dives in the past, can I go deeper than 6 meters ?
Regulations limit intro dives to a maximum depth of 6m. Even if you have already done 10 baptisms you will not be able to go deeper without having followed training (see level 1).
How long does an introductory dive last?
That will mainly depend on you, but at Mokarran Diving, introductory dives usually last between 40 and 45 minutes underwater.
In apnea I find it difficult to unclog my ears, can I dive ?
Unlike freediving, in scuba diving we can take all the time we need to descend. With an attentive instructor you will have no problem unblocking your ears. Although it is true that we are not all equal when it comes to ears, the vast majority of people can dive.
